— Solving what we don't have time for ourselves

Eiendomsspar has chosen SundayOS to ensure uptime and reliability across all their PV plants. “We want things to just work, without taking up unnecessary time,” says Technical Manager Bjørn A. Søntvedt.

“We just want things to work — and Sunday Power’s platform, SundayOS, simply makes our everyday operations far more efficient, says Bjørn.

We meet him at Eiendomsspar’s head office, where he gladly elaborates:

“We currently have 12 different rooftop PV plants and are planning many more in the years to come. That means we’re completely dependent on having a reliable portfolio — systems that perform and have no downtime.”

Total control of the solar installations

Eiendomspar uses SundayOS to monitor all the plants in their portfolio. Bjørn points out several advantages:

“First of all, it’s incredibly simple to monitor all systems in one place. Trying to track a growing portfolio across ten different platforms would have been very challenging. With SundayOS we can log in, get an overview, and quickly extract the data we need when reporting on our green investments,” he explains.

SundayOS also contributes valuable analyses of solar production.

“The platform calculates the value of the electricity produced, giving us insight into the profitability of our systems. That insight provides a stronger basis for future investment decisions — and a better understanding of our returns,” Bjørn explains.

Functionality that provides peace of mind

Another advantage is the functionality built into SundayOS today.

“The platform compares actual solar production with expected levels based on local climatic conditions such as solar radiation and outdoor temperature. This goes far beyond what we could calculate ourselves,” says Bjørn.

He adds that SundayOS also quickly detects and addresses faults. If needed, Sunday Power’s team handles troubleshooting, and Bjørn can follow the process via the log inside the platform. For major faults, the company is notified directly.

“This monitoring and fault handling is a security we rely on when we own systems across so many different buildings. It’s functionality we simply depend on — it’s not something a person can realistically do, nor something we want to spend our time on,” he says.

This is SundayOS

SundayOS is a software specially designed for owners and managers of commercial buildings to maximize the value of the solar system. The tool provides full control over the facilities in the portfolio, ensuring efficient monitoring, minimal downtime and correct billing.

Efficient operations with fewer inspections

With just under 40 employees and a real estate portfolio of nearly one million square metres spread across 130 rooftops, Eiendomsspar needs to operate as efficiently as possible.

“We no longer need to send janitors up on the roof for routine inspections. With SundayOS, we can calculate when inspections are actually needed instead,” says Bjørn.

A strong commitment to solar

Eiendomsspar has a strong environmental profile and aims to be a company that contributes actively to the green transition.
Bjørn says they view solar energy as a profitable, stable and long-term investment — with long technical lifetimes.

“We also see that our tenants want green energy, which is yet another reason for us to offer it.”

And he promises more solar on the roofs in the years ahead:

“Solar energy is a technology we’ve already invested heavily in — and we’ll continue to do so. We’ve set concrete targets for the number of rooftops and square metres of solar we will install in the coming years,” he concludes.
