Part of Eiendomspar's sustainability work

André Dalene, Environment Manager at Eiendomsspar, says that Eiendomsspar is committed to being an environmentally and socially responsible property operator. Solar energy is part of the sustainability strategy to produce more green and renewable energy on the properties.

“It is a milestone that we are now on target with the largest facility in the portfolio. The building from the 70s has become greener and more attractive to the tenants. Produced renewable energy from the solar cells also makes a contribution to improving the energy brands on the building.

There are 17 tenants in Professor Birkelandsvei 36, including Nordanger Floors and Porterbuddy's call center.

Sustainability and business are closely linked

Eiendomspar systematically works on sustainability through a long-term strategy, action plans and key figures reporting. The sustainability strategy sets the direction for the future, while the action plan is concrete and targeted for the coming year. The results are measured and reported in the annual reports.

- Sustainability is an integral part of the business strategy, and Eiendomsspar sees it as a key factor for success in the development and management of real estate. With the help of sustainable solutions, we develop and manage properties so that they meet the current and tomorrow's needs of tenants,” says André.

Professor Birkelandsvei 36 is located at Furuset in Oslo. In the 12,000-square-foot building, there are 17 tenants.

Fifth installation with Sunday Power this year

Professor Birkelandsvei 36 is the fifth installation Sunday Power will deliver to Eiendomsspar in 2024. Rikard af Ekenstam, Chief Commercial Officer of Sunday Power, praises Eiendomsspar for their investment in solar.

“We are proud of our cooperation with Eiendomsspar. This is a pioneer in the real estate industry when it comes to sustainability work, and we appreciate being able to deliver solutions that support their sustainability goals. Their portfolio of solar photovoltaic systems shows how commercial real estate can play an important role for the production of renewable energy,” says Rikard.
