This solar plant produces electricity equivalent to 4 million km driving with a Ford Mustang Mach E - or over 90 times around the equator.
The car factory is RøhnesElmer's new major venture in the Drammen area. Here, in Lierstranda, you will find Norway's largest Ford store selling new cars, passenger cars and commercial vehicles, a very good selection of used cars and a Heritage Centre with a range of unique and classic cars for sale. The owner of the building, Selmer Capital, wants to support RøhneSelmer in the transition to clean energy.
- Røhneselmer is investing heavily in electric vehicles, and it is only natural that the new large plant will follow up that investment with solar photovoltaic systems that will supply both the building and the cars with green electricity at an attractive price, says Fredrik Selmer, owner at Selmer Capital
This will also be part of Selmer Capital's sustainability strategy where we see greener buildings increasing in value.
- We are proud of the positive impact this benchmark project has for us, the automotive industry and the environment, continues Fredrik.
Watch the installation process of the benchmark project in the video:
“We wanted to carry out this project with a professional partner who could deliver solar energy in an attractive and profitable way,” says Fredrik. We chose Sunday Power because of their skilled team, quality focus and their holistic solution for solar energy,” he continues.
With the Solar as a service solution from Sunday Power, Bilfabrik gets cost-effective solar energy in a simple and profitable way, and can get an income from the roof.
'It's a “no-brainer,"” says Frederick.
- This is an exciting project for Sunday Power. The installation is going to produce almost 1 MWh a year, which is a large part of the building's total energy consumption. Fun fact, this equates to 4 million km of driving with a Ford Mustang Mach E - or over 90 times around the equator, says Sunday Power's Chief Commercial Officer, Rikard af Ekenstam.
He emphasises that the partnership with Selmer Gruppen shows that sustainable industrial buildings are attractive.
- A win-win for all parties and for the environment, he concludes.
