“Sunday Power will take a leading position for solar cells in commercial buildings in Europe, and we are building a stellar team. Håkon has impressive technological experience, is a leadership talent and has the personality and drive to match our ambitions. We are delighted to have Håkon on the team,” says CEO Jonas Ibsen Brynildsrud.

Håkon Trømborg holds a master's degree in cybernetics from NTNU and has previously worked with AI and data science at Accenture, in the solar cell company NorSun. He comes from Cognite, which in 2021 became Norway's first “unicorn”, where he went from software engineer to tech lead.

I am very happy about this opportunity. Solar power is very exciting and in tremendous growth, and it is rare for a company to have a business model that is so exclusively positive for the environment as the one Sunday Power has. The world needs smarter solutions for energy, both on the production and consumption side, and the combination of infrastructure and data provides a unique position to develop technologies that deliver smarter consumption and a greater environmental footprint for the benefit of both the globe and our customers,” says Trømborg, who starts as CTO of Sunday Power on August 1.

Sunday Power invests in photovoltaic systems and software in commercial buildings, and aims to make solar cells simple and profitable for both building owners and tenants. Since its launch in autumn, the company has been in great demand, and they have already managed to get players such as Bulk, Eiendomsspar, Ticon, GG Gruppen and Heldal Eiendom on the customer list.

“We are in growth mode and plan to quadruple the team over the course of the year. We are constantly looking for hungry talent in tech, sales, operations and financing, and we have big plans in the pipeline,” Brynildsrud concludes.
