Now the hose specialist uses green electricity from solar cells on his own roof. “Everyone wins from this,” says Morten Abrahamsen, Chief Operating Officer of Hydroscand Norway.
Hydroscand has signed an agreement with Sunday Power for renewable power from solar photovoltaic plants on its own roof. The plant has already been installed at the head office in Jeksleveien 100 in Frogner.
“One of our strengths has always been our local presence in the market. Now we also get local electricity, namely green solar energy from our own roof. We are very pleased to have put in place a climate-friendly and energy-saving measure that also ensures us electricity below market price”, says Morten Abrahamsen of Hydroscand.
Hydroscand holds a leading position in the market of hoses, pipes and wiring components and is very conscious of its industry responsibilities.
“We strive to operate our business without harming the environment, people or society. Now we can efficiently produce our own renewable energy for our head office without encroaching on nature or burdening the electricity grid,” says Morten Abrahamsen of Hydroscand.
Solar photovoltaic system will save the environment 216,486 kg of CO! 2 per year. In addition, 70 percent of the electricity will be exported out online to the delight of others.
“On sunny days, our head office will be completely self-sufficient with green electricity. The installation will have a fantastic impact on our energy consumption, says Morten Abrahamsen.

The owner of the building, Bulk Industrial Real Estate, is in full swing to install solar photovoltaic systems on several of its buildings together with Sunday Power. Jeksleveien 100 is the fifth building in Lindeberg Park where they install solar photovoltaic systems on the roof.
“With this solution, our tenants get green electricity at a more affordable price, and we as a building owner simply get a greener building,” says Nina Hage, EVP of Bulk Industrial Real Estate.
It is the solar supplier Sunday Power that owns and operates the photovoltaic system, and which sells the electricity to Hydroscand. This allows Hydroscand to concentrate on what they are best at; hoses and components.
“Hydroscand is a customer who has understood the possibilities of solar energy and the potential of using its roof for electricity generation. In cooperation with the owner of the building, Bulk Industrial Real Estate, they have obtained a greener building with renewable electricity,” says the general manager of Sunday Power, Jonas Ibsen Brynildsrud.
