“Roofs and solar cells go hand in glove,” says Gard Brunsell, Sales and Marketing Director at Protan Entrepreneur about the new partnership.

Concerned about long term and quality

A photovoltaic system is being built to last at least 30 years. Before starting on a solar installation, an assessment is made of the condition of the roof, and in some cases the roof is ripe for replacement before the solar installation is installed. Protan's roofs should last at least 50 years, solar cells should last at least 30 years and it was therefore natural for the two leading players in roofing and solar cells to enter into a partnership to help customers realize their solar projects and get a long-term, greener and more valuable building.

“A clear win-win for all parties,” says Rikard af Ekenstam, Chief Commercial Officer of Sunday Power.

World leader in membrane technology

With nearly 80 years of experience, Norwegian Protan has developed innovative solutions adapted to a global market and demanding climate. Protan's largest business area is roofing and membrane, and they work closely with customers and suppliers to stay at the forefront of technology, environment and expertise. In the Group there are more than 900 employees, and of these, about 300 people work in Protan Entreprenør.

“Solar cells in commercial buildings are becoming the new norm, and we see that more of our customers in Norway are considering installing solar cells when changing roofs on commercial buildings. We are excited to partner with Sunday Power, a leading player in solar cells that shares our focus on quality, customer satisfaction and who can also show results in helping the real estate industry accelerate the green shift” said Gard.
