Solar cells in the main warehouse allow Vita to save 137,000 kilograms of CO₂ a year. “Very exciting,” says the logistics manager.
Largest in Cosmetics and Wellness
Cosmetics chain Vita's main warehouse is located in Mjøndalen. From here, goods are sent to the whole country. Vidar Solberg is the logistics manager at the warehouse, which has recently had its roof covered with solar cells.
“At first I was a little skeptical. I thought “solar cells are cool”, but we were not willing to invest 10-20 million kronor in solar cells. But when they explained their business model with the fact that they were the ones taking the investment and selling green energy back to us at competitive prices, we think this sounds very exciting.”
Solberg told Drammens Tidende on 29 February.
2,800 square meters of the roof of the Vita building is now covered with solar cells. The Vita's solar cells save 137,000 kilograms of CO₂ a year. In its sustainability work, Vita focuses on using renewable energy and choosing the most environmentally friendly logistics solutions, with solar cells for the main warehouse an important contribution.
The building Vita is located in is owned by Elena Holding. The neighbouring building, where pharmacy and health food distributor Medivatus is based, has also received solar cells from Sunday Power.
“It has been a pleasure to work with Elena Holding, Vita and Medivatus to realize this. These are measures that have a major climate impact. In total, the plant will be able to produce 530,000 kWh a year. This corresponds to the electricity consumption of 35 households,” says Jonas Ibsen Brynildsrud, CEO of Sunday Power.

Make it easy to supply your building with green energy
“Here Elena Holding, Vita and Medivatus get a greener building where we take the entire investment, as well as responsibility for operations, maintenance and management. We need more renewable energy and the core of our business is to make it as frictionless as possible for commercial buildings to produce solar energy. With our technology and business model, we make it easy to supply the building with green energy,” says Jonas Ibsen Brynildsrud, CEO of Sunday Power.
