- We are very pleased that we will now be able to add renewable energy to our plant. As a company, we have a responsibility to reduce our own impact on the climate and the planet's resources, and this is a measure that contributes positively to our work on sustainability,” says Jon F. Finne, Property manager, Bilia Norway.

It is Bilia's facility in Nordbyveien 98 that has had solar photovoltaic systems installed on the roof. The plant is estimated to save the environment 57,000 kg of CO2 per year, something both Bilia and the farm owner are concerned about.

The owner of the building, Møller Eiendom, has a targeted effort to become more energy efficient precisely by utilizing renewable energy sources such as solar energy.

“Now we can offer our tenant cheaper electricity while at the same time we get a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective car plant. We are very pleased to have utilised the roof of Nordbyveien in this way, it brings savings both for us and for the climate,” says Isak Oksvold, Director of Environment and Sustainability at Møller Eiendom.

New partner

This is the first time Møller Eiendom has partnered with the company Sunday Power on solar energy. Sunday Power offers an end to end solution and is responsible for both the investment in and installation of the photovoltaic system if the customer so wishes. In this case, Møller Eiendom itself has chosen to invest in the facility. A large proportion of the solar power will go to Bilia's operations on the premises, while the rest will be exported onto the grid to the delight of other local players.

“I'm impressed with how quickly they delivered what we wanted, without compromising on quality. Their skilled team has made the job very easy for us as a farm owner,” says Oksvold of Møller Eiendom.

“We are proud to collaborate with one of Norway's leading real estate actors on this project. We share Møller Eiendoms' commitment to a more climate-friendly real estate industry. In addition, the ambition is to make the process as smooth as possible for the customer. It is very nice if we have succeeded in this,” says CCO Rikard af Ekenstam of Sunday Power.

Estimated output: Over 150,000 kWt
