Daimyo Eiendom and Sunday Power have entered into a green partnership in the field of solar energy in Lyngdal Handelspark in Fiboveien. 6 buildings will receive solar photovoltaic systems on the roof, ensuring farm owners, tenants and the local environment renewable, affordable electricity.

“Now we are going to make the most of all the sunny days in the South Country! Once we do this, we take a real boost to get a greener and more sustainable commercial park in Lyngdal,” says Alexander Kjær, Investment Director at Daimyo Eiendom.

By installing solar photovoltaic systems on a total of 6 commercial buildings, totaling 5,500 square meters, Daimyo Eiendom will save an estimated 450 tons of CO2 per year for the environment. It will also become one of the South's largest solar farms with an output of over 1000 megawatt hours per year.

'When we realised Sunday Power could help us realise this quickly and effectively, there was nothing to wonder about. As a property manager, we have a responsibility to contribute to a greener real estate industry, and Sunday Power's solution has made it easy and cost-effective to implement a concrete action like monner. A greener commercial park brings value to all parties - tenants, building owners and the planet,” says Alexander Kjær of Daimyo.

A fantastic opportunity for the tenants

XXL, Skeidar, Jula, Thansen, Pets and Rusta are among the tenants of the trading park today. The farm owner can offer tenants green electricity straight from their own roof at below market price, through their agreement with Sunday Power.

“Here Daimyo Real Estate contributes a golden opportunity for the tenants of the commercial park. They get access to locally produced, renewable energy at no extra cost. This is a concrete sustainability measure for the tenant as well,” says Rikard af Ekenstam, CCO of Sunday Power.

Rooftop solar cells improve the green profile of the building, increasing its value for both the building owner and the tenant. With such a facility, the building owner can contribute to Norway producing more renewable energy and reducing the need to import non-renewable energy from the continent. The electricity that is not used by the tenants will be exported online to the enjoyment of other actors in the local environment.
