Tenants will enjoy renewable electricity from their own roof when Eiendomsspar and Sunday Power install solar photovoltaic systems in Smalvollveien 61-63 in December.
Everyone wins this. The tenants get locally produced, cheap electricity, and we get a greener and more energy-efficient building. Therefore, this is just the start of a roll-out of solar cells on several of our buildings,” says André Dalene, Environment Manager at Eiendomsspar.
In recent years, Eiendomsspar has implemented many measures to reduce energy consumption and make its properties more environmentally friendly.
“We were one of Sunday Power's first customers when we installed our plant in Hoffsveien 10, Oslo, and have since impressed us with their solutions. After a thorough procurement process, we are now in the process of a larger collaboration and are rolling out solar photovoltaic systems in the range of approximately 11 acres on a portfolio of 5 commercial buildings in the future,” says Dalene.
He adds that the choice fell on Sunday Power because of their good advice, competitive pricing and holistic solution for solar energy that in a simple way provides maximum financial return from the investments. Equally important was Sunday Power's unique software, which ensures cost-effective installation, maintenance, plant operation and reporting.
For Eiendomsspar, solar energy has become an important, concrete measure to make the property portfolio more environmentally friendly and energy efficient. The plant in Smalvollveien 61-63 is designed to save the climate about 14,000 kilograms of CO! 2 per year.
“We at Eiendomsspar share the same vision as Sunday Power, to accelerate the green shift in the real estate industry. As a major property operator, we also have a great responsibility to contribute more sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions. The solar installations are very concrete measures that save the environment from climate emissions while providing our tenants with green electricity,” says Dalene.
“We have developed a technology-driven business model that makes solar cells on large, flat commercial buildings attractive to both farm owners and tenants. It was a milestone when Eiendomsspar chose us the first time. Now we are looking forward to helping them give them a greener portfolio with solar energy on multiple roofs,” says Jonas Ibsen Brynildsrud, CEO of Sunday Power.
