At Smalvollveien 61 and 63 in Alnabru, Oslo, Eiendomsspar has commissioned new solar power systems for its two commercial buildings, now ready to generate solar energy for the 9 businesses located on the premises.

One of the companies located on Smalvollveien is Oslo Låsservice, a locksmith that was named a "Gaselle" growth company every year between 2019 and 2022. The company, which has 40 employees, is a certified Eco-Lighthouse, a recognized proof that the business meets a range of criteria for its work on climate and the environment. John Nylén, CEO of Oslo Låsservice, says that using solar power produced on the roof was therefore a perfect fit for the environmentally conscious company.
“We are very pleased that Eiendomsspar chose to install solar panels on the roof of the building where we are located, allowing us to use locally produced, renewable solar energy at Oslo Låsservice. Sustainability is high on our agenda, and we look forward to many sunny hours in the years to come,” says Nylén.
- Clearly the right thing to do with the roof
The two installations have a combined capacity of 133 kWp and are estimated to produce 106,400 kWh per year. In total, Sunday Power will deliver five installations to Eiendomsspar's commercial buildings during 2024.
“Together, these installations will provide an annual climate saving of approximately 200 tons of CO2. The total production is equivalent to the electricity consumption of 100 households. We are proud of that,” says André Dalene, Head of Environment at Eiendomsspar.
“There are thousands of empty commercial roofs in Norway that are perfectly suited for producing electricity from solar energy. This is clearly the right thing to do with flat roofs and larger roof areas,” Dalene continues.
He adds that the choice fell on Sunday Power because of their excellent consulting and comprehensive solution, which easily maximizes the financial return on the investments.
