Software Engineer
At Sunday Power, we're building the future of sustainable energy in commercial real estate. We are looking for a versatile Software Engineer to join our growing, agile tech team. This role offers the unique opportunity to work across various parts of our technical stack, from backend systems and cloud infrastructure to frontend applications and potentially data science initiatives. You'll be instrumental in developing new features for our core product SundayOS, the leading solar and battery monitoring and optimization software for commercial real estate, with a strong focus on scalability and reliability.
You'll join a small, dedicated tech team with a CPO, CTO, and four developers, operating in a flat hierarchy where your contributions and ideas are highly valued. We embrace good engineering practices (version control, peer-review, reproducible builds) while staying flexible on technology, plans, and process to balance speed and quality effectively. 3+ years of professional experience in full-stack, backend, or infrastructure software development.
A quick learner and self-starter who's comfortable taking on responsibility and independently identifying, analyzing, and solving complex technical problems.
A solid understanding of software engineering basics, modern development practices, and clean code principles.
Experience with cloud-native architectures, including concepts like serverless and distributed systems design.
Authorized to work in Norway (EU/EFTA citizen) and willing to work from our Oslo office.
Ability to contribute across multiple technical domains: backend, infrastructure, frontend, and potentially data science.
Proficiency in languages like F#, Typescript (React, Node), Python, or experience with AWS services and Docker.
Experience in designing fault-tolerant systems, optimizing database performance, implementing data streaming, or managing infrastructure costs.
A clear focus on delivering customer value and business impact with technical decisions.
A collaborative spirit, evidenced by a willingness to mentor peers, learn from others, and contribute positively to team dynamics.
Adaptability to a dynamic, fast-paced startup setting, comfortable with ambiguity.
As a versatile Software Engineer at Sunday Power, your core responsibilities will span:
Build and implement new features for SundayOS, ensuring high quality, scalability, and maintainability.
Contribute to the design, implementation, and management of our AWS-based cloud infrastructure, focusing on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
Design and optimize systems to handle growing data volumes and user loads, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance across our services.
Collaborate and contribute across backend, frontend, and potentially data science domains, adapting to evolving project needs and learning new technologies.
Independently identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical challenges, taking proactive ownership from conception to resolution.
Work closely with team members, participate in peer reviews, and contribute positively to a supportive and dynamic team environment.
